Corgi’s were born and bred to herd sheep. That is built into their bloodlines. It is their heritage and their destiny. But a select few have bucked that tradition and have chosen a different path. They live in the Texas Hill Country and herd whitetail deer. And the occasional lizard. These are their stories.

Cooper
Corgi Ranch was the brainchild of Cooper, who grew up on a horse farm in East Texas. He cut his teeth running horses in their paddock and snacking on horse hoofs at midday. After several years living in suburbia and working an office job as the assistant to the assistant manager, he longed to return to his roots, to run free through the fields, and bark to his heart’s content.

Loki
Loki is a local legend, lead dog, and current proprietor of Corgi Ranch. Nothing happens at Corgi Ranch without his say so. He is an athlete, a scholar, and a pillar of his community. Many consider him the most interesting corgi in the world.

Winnie
Meet Winnie, the new hand at Corgi Ranch. She’s a bit young, inexperienced, precocious, and a mite undisciplined. And she is a girl. But underestimate her at your own peril. She’s fearless, and her talent is unmistakable. Worth taking a chance on. In a few years, will she be yet another flame-out, or running the whole operation? Who’s to know? We will just have to wait and see.
Malloy
My Boy Malloy is 17 hands and twelve hundred pounds of Texas Thoroughbred chill. Hunter Derby champion, fox hunter, trainer’s stead, and object of mare adoration, Malloy has been around the block a time or two.

Jesse
Jesse joined Corgi Ranch by marriage, seven years prior to inception. All the elements were there, so one could argue he really should have seen it coming. He now serves as driver, documentarian, and handler of the handler.
Diane
The Handler. Diane is the one who rides the horses and runs the corgi’s. Equal parts whisperer and director. She first spoke the words Corgi Ranch about ten years after Cooper was but a twinkle in her eye, so you can say she had the idea for the idea.
